Trust isn’t something you claim.
It’s something you earn.
It’s earned through the decisions no one else sees. The materials you choose. The hardware you refuse to compromise on. The stitches hidden inside the finished product. The consistency to build every product the same way, every time.
That’s what Define Your Hunt was built on.
I didn’t start this company because I wanted to start a company.
I started it because I believed I could build something better.
That belief started after discovering what I believed was a serious safety concern with a hunting saddle I owned. I contacted the manufacturer because I believed it was the right thing to do. The concern was ultimately dismissed, and when I later found the same issue on additional saddles, I came to a simple realization.
If I wanted a hunting saddle built to my standards, I was going to have to build it myself.
At the time, I couldn’t sew.
I wasn’t an engineer.
I had never designed a hunting saddle.
So I learned.
Over the next three years, I taught myself to sew, built five prototypes, and spent countless hours testing, refining, and rebuilding every detail. There were days when quitting would have been easier.
I didn’t.
I was raised believing that your name and your handshake mean something. If you give your word, you keep it. If you’re going to do something, give it everything you have—or don’t do it at all.
Those values became the foundation of Define Your Hunt.
Every saddle is built with the same mindset.
The same way.
Every time.
Not because every customer will notice every detail—but because I will.
The thread matters.
The hardware matters.
The placement of every stitch matters.
The details hidden inside the saddle matter.
Consistency matters.
When you’re building equipment people trust with their lives, every decision matters.
Our motto is Built to Trust.
To me, that isn’t just a slogan.
It means building equipment I’d trust with my own children or my friends’ children without ever questioning whether it would do its job.
If it doesn’t meet that standard, it doesn’t leave my shop.
Today, every Define Your Hunt saddle is still handcrafted by me. I cut the materials, sew every stitch, inspect every finished product, package every order, and prepare it for shipment.
If the day comes when others join this company, they won’t be expected to protect a profit margin.
They’ll be expected to protect a standard.
My goal has never been to build the biggest hunting saddle company.
My goal is to build one of the most trusted.
Years from now, I hope hunters describe Define Your Hunt with a simple sentence:
“It might cost a little more, but I promise you won’t be disappointed.”
If that becomes our reputation, then we’ll know we’ve done things the right way.
My name is on every saddle that leaves this shop.
That means something to me.
It always will.
